Halverson spent six weeks in China during the fall of 2005 working on a project tentatively called “China on the Move”. The work consists of panoramic images with an emphasis on construction.

St. Louis Museum of Art, St. Louis, MO, “Recent Landscape: The Intimate and the Sublime”, opening May, 2006

Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C. After being closed for several years, the SMAM reopens July 4, 2006, with an exhibition entitled, “Road Trip”.

J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, “Photographs of America from The Berman Collection”, opening October, 2006. An exhibition catalog will be published.

PUBLICATIONS The big news is that “Downstream”, Halverson’s Colorado River Series, will be published by the University of California Press in 2007.

“Looking at Los Angeles”, was published in June, 2005 by Metropolis Books. This large and very handsome book incorporates a broad range of photographs, both historic contemporary. The book includes an essay by David Ulin, new editor of the Los Angeles Times Book Review. It is on Amazon’s list of the 50 best books of 2005.
WORKSHOP Halverson will teach a Nature/Landscape workshop at the Pine Butte Guest Ranch near Choteau, Montana, September 17 - 23, 2006. The ranch is run by The Nature Conservancy. It is magnificently situated in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. There will be a very knowledgeable naturalist on hand. The food is fabulous – they make all their own bread!
