I am currently at work on a new monograph tentatively titled, Contemplating Blue, a survey of my work from over the years.
I am thrilled to share the news of substantial acquisitions of my work by the Beinecke Library at Yale University and by Special Collections at Stanford University. It is immensely gratifying to know that my work will
be preserved at these two institutions. Bountiful thanks to curator George Miles at Yale and to curator Anna Lee at Stanford. The acquisitions consist of selections from four bodies of work: New Orleans & the Levees (2015-2016), Big Sky/Texas (2017), Miami & South Florida (2019), and Downstream: Encounters with the Colorado River (1994-1995). Above, see a pair of images from each of these bodies of work.
My monograph MULHOLLAND, can be ordered from https://www.mweditions.com/mulholland/. The book contains 41 double-spread photographs made along iconic Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles. Below are links to reviews with brief excerpts from each:
Leica Fotographie International: “This photo series, now published at last as a book, speaks of the magnificence of the landscape and of Hollywood's heritage.”
Hyperallergic:: “ Halverson’s lush, panoramic shots allow viewers to immerse themselves in the complex route where the landscape and the metropolis collide.”
PhotoBook Journal: "The images deftly capture both the myth and the messy reality of the road. Any driver will recognize the intersection of fantasy and reality that this singular road represents."
